St. Louis Native Chloe Day returns to the Midwest to play at the Artichoke.

THREE POST-NEW YEAR'S PERFORMANCES

From The Wichita Eagle-Beacon
Fri, Dec. 30, 2005

After the champagne toasts, the midnight buffets and the New Year's Day brunches, what's a party-lover to do? No worries, friends. The Wichita entertainment scene rolls smoothly into 2006 with live music all week long. A few highlights:

1) The Studio, 518 W. Harry, has a jam-packed roster, with Acoustics Anonymous and Killer B's playing on Sunday, Joe Stumpe on Monday and Steve Downey on Tuesday. Steve Cotter and Mad Mitch round out the week with shows on Wednesday and Thursday.

2) St. Louis native Chloe Day performs Tuesday at the Artichoke, 811 N. Broadway. An unsigned artist with two full-length albums to her credit, Day has a sound reminiscent of Shawn Colvin or Beth Orton, but a dash of bubble-gum pop lends her tunes a lighter feel.

3) Country-rock artists Ben Travis and Jim Harrison play an acoustic set Thursday at the Shadow, 550 N. Rock Road
